5. We need a religion that has God reaching down to us. The Christian religion is such a religion. God reached down to us by sending His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to be our "Good Shepherd" to lead us to Himself.
Yet, on that day at a divinely appointed moment, Jesus came to John to be baptized. Awe-stricken by this privilege, John stuttered out his own unworthiness of such an honor, declaring that he was not even fit to untie the sandals of his Lord. The scene is memorialized even to this day, however, by the dove descending upon Jesus. Now some could dismiss this by saying that they have prayed and asked for help, but they are still stressed out. Perhaps we shouldn't be so quick to dismiss God's instructions on how to relieve stress. Maybe we should simply carry out His instructions, even if we need to cast our cares and let our requests be made known to Him a hundred times a day.
It is only for default on their word that causes God to be true to his contract and act to apply the penalty clause.
It just makes sense that for a religion to be true then it must answer the crux of life's spiritual questions such as the creation, death, sin, righteousness, and love. But not only should it address the spiritual but also the issues of daily life like family, marriage, divorce, money, work, politics and ministry. No other religion touches on so many areas of life than the Bible.
